FARM2COOK (“we”, “our” or “us”) values your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use farm2cook.com, what we do with it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email us at hello@farm2cook.com.
1. Information we collect
- Account & contact: your name, email address, phone number and delivery addresses when you sign up or place an order. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your Google profile name and email address through Google OAuth.
- Order data: the items you buy, the store you order from, delivery date, notes and order history.
- Payment data: card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number, CVV or expiry. We only keep the payment intent ID and the last four digits returned by Stripe so we can match a charge to an order.
- Usage & device data:pages visited, approximate location (from IP), device type, browser, and referring URLs — collected automatically to keep the site secure and to improve performance.
- Communications: messages you send through the contact form or email.
2. How we use your information
- Process, fulfill and deliver your orders.
- Send order confirmations, status updates and receipts by email.
- Operate customer support when you contact us.
- Detect fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- Send marketing email only with your explicit opt-in — you can unsubscribe any time from the footer of any marketing email or by emailing us.
- Meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies:
- Essential: session authentication, cart contents, selected store location. The site does not work without these.
- Analytics: aggregate page view counts so we can see what's slow or broken. No tracking across other sites.
- Payment: Stripe sets cookies from js.stripe.com while you're on the checkout page to detect fraud; these are governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.
You can clear cookies in your browser at any time. Clearing them will sign you out and empty your cart.
4. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the business, and only to the extent needed for them to do their job:
- Stripe — card payment processing.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (order confirmations, password resets).
- Google — if you choose “Sign in with Google”.
- Render and Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery.
- Delivery partners — the courier fulfilling your order receives the name, address and phone needed to deliver.
- Law enforcement — only when required by a valid legal request.
5. Data retention
We keep order records for seven years to meet US tax and audit requirements. We keep account data while your account is open. If you delete your account we retain the minimum order data needed for the retention window above, and remove or anonymise everything else. Marketing opt-ins are deleted within 30 days of unsubscribe.
6. Data security
Traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Card data is handled only by Stripe and never touches our servers. Admin access is role-scoped. Backups are encrypted at rest. No system is perfectly secure though — if we ever detect a breach that affects your data we will notify you promptly as required by law.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Ask us to delete your data (subject to the retention rules above).
- Opt out of marketing communications.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
We do not sell or “share” personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act. California residents may request disclosure of the categories of personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of targeted advertising. To make a request, email hello@farm2cook.com with the subject line “CCPA Request”.
9. Children
FARM2COOK is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
We are based in the United States. If you access the site from outside the US your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the site you consent to this transfer.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date at the top. If the change significantly affects how we use your data, we'll email you before it takes effect.
