Dahi chicken is a classic chicken curry with yoghurt as an ingredient. Indian cuisine has a big list of ingredients and requires a lot of sautéing, which might be intimidating. This will be quite tasty because of the zesty flavour. The only source of tang is dahi; no tomatoes are added to them. The kasuri methi leaves give the entire dish its distinctive scent.


INGREDIENTS
Oil or Ghee
5 tblsp
Cinnamon / Pattai
1 large piece
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam
1 tsp
Green Chillies
3 slit
Onion
2 large sliced
Ginger Garlic Paste
2 tblsp
Chicken
500 grams
Yogurt / Thick Curd / Dahi
1 cup
Turmeric Powder
1 tsp
Cumin Powder
2 tsp
Chilli Powder
2 tsp
Salt
For taste
Garam masala powder
2 tsp
Kasuri Methi Leaves
1 tblsp
Coriander leaves
Chopped & Handful
PREPARATION

 

  • Chicken, salt, and turmeric powder are added to a skillet with 2 tablespoons of heated oil. Cook this over a high heat until the chicken is well-browned all around. Get rid of to a bowl. Place aside.

  • Add three additional tablespoons of oil to the pan along with the cinnamon and cumin.

  • Onions should be added and sautéed till golden brown.

  • Green chillies and ginger-garlic paste should be added; cook until raw scent is gone.

  • Salt and all the masala powder are now added. Mix well.

  • Re-add the chicken and combine with the masala.

  • Mix in the dahi after adding it.

  • Chicken will be done after 20 minutes of simmering undercover.

  • Mix thoroughly after adding the kasuri methi and coriander leaves.

  • Serve it hot with roti, parotta, or rice.
